This Sunday Science Spotlight is all about aquatic

This Sunday Science Spotlight is all about aquatic macroinvertebrates! Often called “macros” for short, these tiny critters start their lives entirely in the water before growing and changing into insects like dragonflies, mayflies, caddisflies and many others. Like Jacobo explains, many macros are more sensitive to pollution and disturbance, so they can be used as an indicator to know the general state of a body of water and help us monitor whole-ecosystem impacts. This water-to-land life cycle is a really cool natural process and is a great example of how things we do on land are tightly connected to the health, diversity, and quality of our water! #kansascity #conservation #aquaticecology

Since so many of the BTG staff often have our hands in the dirt, we’re typically pretty grounded folks, but right now we’re still on cloud nine after our annual event Planting Possibilities. With over 450 guests in attendance, the community was able to help us raise over $100k to support Bridging The Gap!

We have a forest's worth of thank you’s, but we want to make sure and highlight our incredible keynote speaker @robinwallkimmererimmerer , author of the book “Braiding Sweetgrass”, the @mcplmo, and @rainydaybooks for helping make this event our best yet.
