We're talking free trees a lot this week! Growing our tree canopy takes more than just the physical planting of trees. Before that we have to find the right places to plant and the right folks to help care for them down the road. Sometimes that means door knocking! We visit neighborhoods that have a need for trees and that have an aging tree canopy. And last week we knocked doors in the Blue Hills Estates neighborhood to offer free trees to residents with the help of 6th District Councilman @johnathanduncankc

Bush honeysuckle, wintercreeper, and serciea are the three primary invaders on the natural areas that we steward — take note of what they look like as they emerge over the next few months and join one of our volunteer opportunities to learn how to manage these problematic plants while making a hands-on difference for nature 🤜🌱
