ABOUT US
The Green Dining Alliance–Kansas City (GDAKC) is a restaurant sustainability certification program housed by Bridging The Gap, Kansas City’s leading local environmental organization. GDAKC works with food and beverage establishments to reduce their environmental impact by evaluating all areas of operations, then setting personalized goals with each member. Â
GDAKC operates throughout Kansas City, Missouri.Â
Our Mission
To support local businesses and enhance each diner’s experience by engaging establishments and stakeholders in a process to increase environmental sustainability through tailored strategies and collaboration.Â
Our Environmental Goals
- Divert landfill waste by increasing the number of establishments that recycle and compost
- Reduce participants’ energy consumption
- Increase local, sustainable food and product purchases
- Increase environmental awareness among business owners, staff and diners
Online Resources
Our online restaurant listing is promoted to the public as a resource for choosing sustainable dining options. All GDAKC–certified members appear in the listing.Â
We also have a resource database for restaurants.Â

GDAKC is funded by the city of Kansas City’s Office of Environmental Quality.Â
