Shades of Green

We certify an establishment with a star rating when the audit results illustrate successful consideration of the environmental impact of a restaurant’s everyday actions, and when its lifestyles and systems reflect those considerations and their level of commitment. A star-rated, certified GDAKC member has access to all of our resources and is encouraged to make reasonable improvements over the course of their membership, in an effort to recertify at an equal or higher rating. We commit to being available to our members by offering assistance and guidance to help them reach and surpass their individual sustainability goals. There are four levels of certification:

5 Star GDAKC Restaurant: Exemplary understanding and performance of sustainable practices
4 Star GDAKC Restaurant: Incorporates environmentally responsible practices throughout management & operations
3 Star GDAKC Restaurant: Exceeds fundamental standards for environmental responsibility
2 Star GDAKC Restaurant: Meets fundamental standards for environmental responsibilityÂ
