Loud and Local Festival – Solar Power

This is going to be Kansas City’s first solar-powered music festival. Loud & Local aims to the greenest and most sustainable festival in Kansas City, having “Smartflower” a large solar company there, plus their long-time partner the “Sunshine Box” from 17.73 Innovative, to help power the festival’s performances. That’s why it’s called “Loud and Local, Powered by Battery Tour”. They hope to use this festival as a testing ground to then launch into other cities and states and power all sorts of other events and festivals and also eventually hold their own monthly “Battery Tour standalone” events that feature local/independent artists and performances. They want to disrupt the music festival industry, and make the push for every one of them to switch to renewable energy, ideally “Powered, by Battery Tour”. They also are working with local nonprofits such as Bridging The Gap to make sure people reduce-reuse-recycle and learn about the importance of sustainability.
