Waste Education Webinar: The State of Recycling

May 19, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

The State of Recycling (And how you can help it)
May 19 | 1 PM CST

As the U.S. recycling system realizes the effects of stricter policies on scrap imports by China and other countries  ̶  now mixed with even more uncertainty caused by a global pandemic  ̶  one thing is for certain: our system is changing and everyone has a role to play in ensuring its successful future.

Join Bridging The Gap’s Green Business Network and Johnson County Community College’s Center for Sustainability as we examine the state of recycling both nationally and here at home. We’ll answer your questions about the recycling collection process, what’s accepted in our market and what’s not, and learn about the ways in which businesses and individuals can help create a stronger U.S. recycling system.

Presenters: Michelle Martin, Materials Recovery Facility Plant Manager at Waste Management and Michael Shaw, Director, Solid Waste Division, Neighborhoods and Housing Services, City of Kansas City, Missouri
