Heartland Tree Alliance, in partnership with the Project Blue River Rescue, will plant riparian seedlings along the Blue River in Kansas City, Missouri. Riparian areas are the interface between land and a river or stream. These areas are significant in environmental management because of their role in soil conservation, habitat biodiversity and the influence they have on fauna and aquatic ecosystems.

Bonus! Project Blue River Rescue’s famous hot dog lunch and stream team t-shirts will be provided after the workday (while supplies last)!

No prior tree planting experience is necessary. Tools and equipment will be provided. All volunteers must register in advance by completing online registration. (Meeting location is stated on registration form).  Click on registration button below for more details and to register.  Immediately after registering, each individual will receive an auto-email confirmation with more details. Questions: contact Sarah Crowder 816- 561-1086 or email sarah.crowder@bridgingthegap.org.

Please note, this is a large event with hundreds of volunteers joining in from several partnerships.  We’ve staggered our start time to allow you to find the Heartland Tree Alliance team at 9:30.

We apologize that we are not able to offer or sign off on court-mandated community service or disciplinary service.
