Volunteer: Pruning & Mulching Workday in Belton

October 8, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Great opportunity for a small group!

Help Heartland Tree Alliance mulch and prune small trees at the Memorial Park in Belton Missouri!

Mulch is so important in young tree care not only to protect the bark from string trimmers and lawn mowers, but also to help retain moisture during our dry months. No prior experience is needed to be a mulching volunteer.

In addition, we will also need to prune the trees. These trees are small and could use some minor pruning to help correct broken branches, remove suckers from the base or train a strong central leader. Volunteers with pruning experience, or TreeKeepers, will handle the pruning activity.
