Volunteer: Ecological Restoration Workday

November 17, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Saturday, November 17, 9:00 AM – Noon

Ecological Restoration Workday

Ogg Prairie, Shawnee Mission Park, Kansas

Volunteer with Kansas City WildLands as we go after the dirty rotten scoundrel known as shrub honeysuckle – an exotic plant that is ruthlessly taking over the woodlands and threatening the health of the forest!  We will remove invasive exotic shrub honeysuckle with loppers and handsaws, and stump-treating it to impede future growth.

Location: Ogg Prairie at Shawnee Mission Park.  Note: this site is stump-filled; volunteers need to have steady footing.  Min age: 11, with parent volunteering alongside youth.

This is a great workday for college students to obtain volunteer credit.  If you have questions or a group, contact Linda Lehrbaum at 816-561-1089 or email linda@bridgingthegap.org.

All volunteers must register in advance by completing online registration. Click on registration button below for more details and to register. Immediately after registering, each individual will receive an auto-email confirmation with more details.

We apologize that we are not able to offer or sign off on court-mandated community service or disciplinary service.
