CANCELLED. Volunteer: Ecological Restoration Workday
November 10, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Saturday, November 10, 9:00 AM – Noon
Ecological Restoration Workday
Hidden Valley Natural Area
This workday has been cancelled due to snow, mud and anticipated morning windchill temps (14 degrees). We love our volunteers, and would prefer not to have their fingers freeze solid!!! We’ve contacted all volunteers that have signed up with us.
Please consider volunteering with Kansas City WildLands Nov 17 at Ogg prairie in Shawnee Mission Park, or December 1 during our Annual Cedar Tree Event! Please click here to see these and other BTG volunteer opportunities.
Volunteer with Kansas City WildLands as we go after the dirty rotten scoundrel known as shrub honeysuckle – an exotic plant that is ruthlessly taking over the woodlands and threatening the health of the forest! We will remove invasive exotic shrub honeysuckle with loppers and handsaws, and stump-treating it to impede future growth.
Location: Hidden Valley Park (north of the river), 6400 NE Russell Rd, Kansas City, MO 64117. Note: this site is stump-filled; volunteers need to have steady footing. Min age: 11, with parent volunteering alongside youth.
This is a great workday for college students to obtain volunteer credit. We welcome both individual volunteers and groups. If you have questions or a group, contact Linda Lehrbaum at 816-561-1089 or email linda@bridgingthegap.org.
All volunteers must register in advance by completing online registration. Click on registration button below for more details and to register. Immediately after registering, each individual will receive an auto-email confirmation with more details.
We apologize that we are not able to offer or sign off on court-mandated community service or disciplinary service.
