Urgent Volunteer Need: Red Bridge Recycling Center
May 11, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 5:00 pm

Recycling Center Volunteers
Saturday, May 11, morning or afternoon shifts available
Location: Red Bridge (south KCMO)
Can you and a friend be our eco-heroes and volunteer for a few hours this Saturday, May 11? Two shifts to choose from: either 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM or 1:00 – 5:00 PM. Help your community and the environment by volunteering at our Red Bridge Recycling Center! Recycling preserves forests; keeps oil, natural gas, and minerals in the ground; and prevents air and water pollution. Bridging The Gap’s Community Recycling Centers are essential because they accept items not recycled curbside and provide options to the many people who do not have recycling available at home.
This outdoor volunteer opportunity is great for students who want to earn service-learning hours. Volunteers assist the recycling center site manager with various duties, such as breaking down cardboard, assisting patrons, etc.
Min age: 8, with parent. (10 yrs old for youth groups). Max group size: 6.
Location:
Red Bridge Recycling Center: 5200 E. Red Bridge Rd., Kansas City, MO 64137 in the KCATA Park-and-Ride commuter parking lot.
All volunteers must register in advance. Deadline: Friday, May 10, 5:00 PM. Call or text Amy Smith, 816-561-1062 or email volunteer@bridgingthegap.org. Clicking the “register for event” button below will open a blank email to Amy – online registration is not available for this opportunity. To sign up, please email or call Amy.
We apologize that we are not able to offer or sign off on court-mandated community service or disciplinary service.
