Volunteer, Ongoing: Wednesday – Saturday, Red Bridge Recycling Center

October 17, 2018 @ 9:00 am - December 28, 2019 @ 5:00 pm

Recycling Center Volunteers Wanted!

Ongoing, year-round, Wednesday through Saturday

Red Bridge Recycling Center

Help your community and the environment by volunteering at the Red Bridge Community Recycling Centers!  Recycling preserves forests; keeps oil, natural gas, and minerals in the ground; and prevents air and water pollution. Bridging The Gap’s Community Recycling Centers are essential because they accept items not recycled curbside and provide options to the many people who do not have recycling available at home.

This outdoor volunteer opportunity is great for students wanting service-learning credit, retired folks looking to stay active, and passionate recyclers! Volunteers assist the recycling center site manager with various duties, such as breaking down cardboard, assisting patrons, etc. Bonus: All volunteers will receive a reusable branded “Bridging The Gap” shopping bag and a KIND granola bar, courtesy of Cargill Cares!

Shifts: recommended Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday shift is 10:30 AM – 2:00 PM. Recommended Saturday shifts are 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM or 1:00 – 5:00 PM.

Note: the Metro North site, located at 8729 N. Summit, Kansas City, MO 64155, closed on Saturday, October 13! Click here for more info about the relocation.
