Volunteer: Ecological Restoration
November 12, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

All spaces are full. Please consider joining us at another volunteer opportunity.
Join Kansas City WildLands as we go after the dirty rotten scoundrel known as shrub honeysuckle – an exotic plant that is ruthlessly taking over the woodlands! This is a great workday for college students to obtain volunteer credit. Location: Shirling Sanctuary (access through the Kansas City Zoo) in Swope Park, Kansas City, Missouri. We will be going after exotic shrub honeysuckle and thick vines of winter creeper climbing the trunks of Shirling Sanctuary’s spectacular bottomland forest trees. This will be hard work… we’ll be cutting and stump treating these two invasive plant species that are threatening the health of the forest.
All volunteers must register online, see button below. Immediately after registering, volunteers will receive an auto-email with more info. Questions? Contact Linda Lehrbaum at 816-561-1089 or email linda@bridgingthegap.org.
We apologize, we are not able to sign off on court-appointed or disciplinary community service requirements.
