Volunteer: Post-Holiday Recycling Center Volunteers Needed, 4 Hour Shifts

January 5, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 5:00 pm

Post-Holiday Recycling Volunteers Needed!

Saturday, January 5, shifts vary

Red Bridge Recycling Center

Help us manage the influx of New Year’s Eve and holiday waste! Grab your family, and volunteer outside with us at the Red Bridge Community Recycling Center.  Also, this is a great opportunity for students on holiday break.  Volunteers assist the recycling center site manager with various duties, such as breaking down cardboard, assisting patrons, etc.

Recycling preserves forests; keeps oil, natural gas, and minerals in the ground; and prevents air and water pollution. Bridging The Gap’s Community Recycling Centers are essential because they accept items not recycled curbside and provide options to the many people who do not have recycling available at home.

Shifts: 9:30 am – 1pm or 1pm – 5pm. If those exact times do not work for you, we can be flexible.

The Red Bridge Recycling Center is located at 5200 E. Red Bridge Rd., Kansas City, MO 64137 in the KCATA Park-and-Ride commuter parking lot.

Min age: 8 with parent. Volunteer alone at 14 yrs. Restrictions differ for groups. All volunteers must register in advance.  Call/text Amy Smith at 816-561-1062 or email volunteer@bridgingthegap.org, mentioning your preferred shift.

We apologize that we are not able to offer or sign off on court-mandated community service or disciplinary service. Note, clicking the “register for event” button below will open a blank email to Amy – online registration is not available for this opportunity. To sign up, please contact Amy.
