EPIC, which stands for Environmental Products for Important Causes just got a BOOST with a little help from Overland Park’s Whole Foods Markets, located on Metcalf Avenue and 119th Street. Both Whole Foods Markets have begun carrying EPIC’s line of eco-friendly cleaning products including Dish Soap, All Purpose Cleaner, and EPIC’s best-selling, Mom’s Magic Cleaner + Degreaser.

“Being in Whole Foods is a dream come true!” said Noelle Morris, founder of Environmental Products for Important Causes, Inc. “Whole Foods customers are the perfect fit for EPIC because they typically embrace products that support the greater good.”

EPIC donates 100% of its profits after taxes and expenses and was modeled after Newman’s Own, Inc., which was founded by Paul Newman as a platform to support charity. Newman’s Own, Inc. has donated more than $370 million to charities since 1982. Of course, EPIC is just getting started and Whole Foods Market is the kick-start it needed.

“Carrying EPIC Cleaning Products gives Whole Foods an opportunity to indirectly support environmental conservation in Kansas City,” said Danielle Grunz, grocery associate team leader at Whole Foods Market on 119th Street. “We are impressed that EPIC’s founder, Noelle Morris built a social enterprise to fund nonprofits, like Bridging The Gap. Our customers can help plant trees, restore wild lands, and beautify the city just by purchasing a bottle of EPIC. How cool is that?”

BTGblog_EPIC01Every EPIC product purchased at Whole Foods Market supports Bridging The Gap, which works to make the Kansas City region sustainable by “connecting environment, economy and community”, and is the premier organization in the area providing environmental education and action through more than 1,000 volunteers annually.

“I founded EPIC as a platform to support the causes I care about,” said Noelle Morris. “But it’s even more than that! It’s about inspiring the purchasing decisions of consumers … giving them a chance to say, “I want my hard-earned dollar to mean something when I buy this product.” Donating all the profits after taxes and expenses is a no-brainer for me. It’s my dream to continue to grow EPIC and tell our story so that one day we can toast Paul Newman and say, “Look at what you’ve started!”
