3 Reasons to Volunteer With BTG

Our calendar is starting to fill up with dates for fall volunteer events. We have tree plantings, habitat restorations, recycling shifts, and litter clean ups galore! Fall is a busy time at BTG, and we’d love to get you involved.

Here are a few reasons why volunteering this fall is a great idea.

1.) Enjoy the weather.

You remember like 2 weeks ago when it was 100 degrees out and we were all scampering from one air-conditioned building to another? No? Just us? Well, turns out there’s a whole season of cooler weather called ‘Fall’. Why not get outside at one of our volunteer opportunities and breathe in the pleasant and welcome temperatures? Plus, being outside is good for you.

2.) Our staff know their stuff.

We have amazing, knowledgeable staff members who dedicate most of their waking hours to making KC better. Best of all, they love to talk about it! Come learn from our experts in all aspects of the environment: urban trees, native habitats, the lifecycle analysis of that disposable cup you’re drinking coffee out of while you read this… Come learn and share your own expertise!

3.) We need your help!

We can’t do this on our own. There’s too much to do. We need you! Every tree you plant, invasive species you remove, or item you recycle makes KC better, greener, healthier, and more sustainable now and in the future.

You can also fill out our individual and group interest forms for up-to-date volunteer info going forward. So, let’s get to it. We’ll see you out there!
